Memorial Day Buddy Poppy Event at Stauffer's

On May 17, we gathered for an evening of good food and sisterhood. After dinner, we worked together to create items for the Buddy Poppy event at Stauffer's of Kissel Hill on Sunday, May 29th.

On Memorial Day weekend, we greeted Stauffer's customers and invited them to support a veteran with a classic Buddy Poppy, a bookmark, a new carnation Buddy Poppy, or a flag. The response was heartwarming and donations were generous.

We heard stories of childhood connections to the Buddy Poppy; veterans stopped by to tell us of their service; and we introduced the Buddy Poppy to children, a new generation learning some American history.

All donations received at the event will go toward veterans programs. Last year's Buddy Poppy donations helped pay shipping costs of Care Packages for the Troops.
