VFW Essay Contest Winners

Students from elementary school grades 6, 7 and 8 participated in this year’s Patriot’s Pen essay contest sponsored by the Lititz Springs VFW and its Ladies Auxiliary. Students submitted essays expressing their view on this year’s topic “Are You Proud of Your Country?” The winners are: Eric Matt, Kissel Hill-1st place; Rebecca M. Owsinski, Warwick Middle School -2nd place; Alysssa Winters, Lititz Elementary-3rd place.
Students in 9th through 12th grades entered the Voice of Democracy contest with essays on “Is There Pride in Serving in Our Military?” Fallon O’Neill and Rebekah Richin of Manheim Township High School won 1st and 2nd place, respectively.
