Loyalty Day Art Contest

Our patriotic instructor, Anne Loechner, once again provided information and guidance to local elementary schools for this year’s Loyalty Day Art Contest. The theme was A NATION UNITED. Students from kindergarten to sixth grade in the three local elementary schools rendered their concept of the theme. Judging was performed by the Ladies of the Auxiliary. On April 20, 2010, the children, their parents and teachers, and members of the Post and Auxiliary attended an assembly at which time prizes were awarded. Anne addressed the gathering, as did Mayor Oettel who led us in the salute to the flag. Joel Ellis spoke briefly and thanked all who participated. Awards were then given to each grade’s first through fourth place winners.
