Bike Rodeo at John Beck Elementary

Commander Joel Ellis represented Lititz Springs VFW Post 1463 at a Bike Rodeo held April 27th at John Beck Elementary School. The VFW is proud to contribute to community and youth events such as the bike rodeo.

The rodeo gave kids a chance to develop their bike riding skills. At this event, sixth graders guided the younger students through the various bike handling stations. The bikers had to perform starts, stops and maintain control of the bike at a slow speed. Their skills were also tested on a course that required maintaining control of their bike while giving proper turn signals and following through on the turns.

Warwick Township police officer Dee Brown spoke to the children about the importance of a helmet and provided instruction on the correct way to wear a helmet.
