Ladies Auxiliary Announces Winners In Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest

Alessandra Levato presented her painting, “To Be An American”, to the Ladies Auxiliary to Lititz Springs VFW Post 1463 auxiliary this past March for entry in the Young American Creative Patriotic Art contest. Her painting and one other entry were judged and Ali’s work was selected as our best. Her entry was moved forward to Department of PA judging, where she won first place for best in Department of PA.

We have now received word that Ali’s entry in the Young American Creative Patriotic Art contest won first place in the national contest. Ali will receive a $10,000 college scholarship and a two-day expense-paid trip to the national convention in St. Louis, MO in July where she will receive her award at the ladies auxiliary convention.

By the way, the painting of “My Father’s Boots” that hangs in our Post in the alcove near the rest rooms was Ali’s first entry into the contest. Everyone loved it and the Post purchased that painting from Ali.

This is Ali’s third year with an entry in the contest. Congratulations to Ali for all her hard work and creative talent. We wish her success in the future, wherever her talents take her.

An official press release will be out soon, and we’ll post that here!
