Anne Loechner: Outstanding Patriotic Instructor Award

Congratulations and bravo to Anne Loechner, winner of the 2011-2012 Department of Pa Outstanding Patriotic Instructor Award. This annual award goes to only one auxiliary patriotic instructor in the Department of PA….and our Anne won it! About time!

The award was announced at the Department of PA Ladies Auxiliary convention in Erie, PA on June 15. Auxiliary president Susan Ellis accepted the award for Anne. Anne wasn’t aware that she had won, and was shocked and surprised when the award was presented to her at the Post 1463 breakfast on June 17.

Anne has been the recipient of other awards. Her auxiliary sisters presented an award to her in 2010 in appreciation of her dedication as patriotic instructor over the past 20 years. She also received The Freedom and American Award; in 2008 the VFW awarded Anne a Citation of Merit for Patriotic Instructor - Most Outstanding Report; and an award in recognition of her work in the Sertoma Club of Lancaster.

Anne prepares and presents our patriotic events at the Post, local schools, retirement communities and nursing homes. By herself or with the assistance of the VFW and her sisters in the auxiliary, Anne always conveys the true meaning of patriotism and her respect for our veterans. She reminds us of our history and that we need to love our country and all our freedoms.

Congratulations and thank you, Anne, for all you do.
